A Lakota Episcopal Prayer Book
Announcing the publishing (self-publishing) of A Lakota Episcopal Prayer Book, this month, October 2025. This is a unique work amongst both Lakota and Episcopal publications as of late. It utilizes some of the texts of previous, frequently forgotten versions of the Book of Common Prayer in the Dakota language. As well, it has all-new prayers written in Lakota and English, specifically for those of the Anglican tradition.
This is a first-run of this Prayer Book. Future editions may come, but for now, this is the only option. It will be available on Amazon through their self-publishing system, in hardcover. Future printings may come, such as through Lulu or other publishers. Time will tell.
I am excited to contribute, however little, to the materials available to fellow Lakota Episcopalians, who are largely, sadly, not fully appreciated by The Episcopal Church or the broader Anglican Communion. This book is for you, and I look to improving on it, if needed or wanted, in the future.
